Harry Lou is a British footwear designer who has never given up on her vision and dreams.
After realising she had abilities to predict future trends in her twenties, she decided to go to London college Of Fashion where she received her diploma in Fashion and Design. While still enjoying and observing her natural ability to see trends before they hit the high streets, she decided that her strongest visions came through as footwear, after having original shoe collections formulating in her sleep.
Launched in 2020, the brand originates from a challenging period in Harriet's life, while going through a divorce and living in Portugal. Harriet set out to design an easy and comfortable shoe, a perfect fit; as a good relation should be, caring and soft, something lacking in her late marriage. Seeking solace, she visited local medieval churches and began photographing Portuguese tiles in houses, and along the walls decorating the local villages. It was here, as the designer's cultural fascination grew, that the idea for Harry Lou's effortless footwear was conceived. Feeling empowered to embark upon on a new creative venture, Harriet looks to the words of Maya Angelou who said, 'My mission in life is not merely to survive, but to thrive; and to do so with some passion, some compassion, some humour, and some style.'
